However, what makes it different this time is the fact that they have registered patents outlining this technology, which makes it extremely plausible. The company plans to achieve this miraculous feat by utilizing micro lenses and an SLM (spatial light modulator) to project a 3D image in mid-air. The earliest we could see this technology would be on the Samsung Galaxy 11, if it even happens at all.
