The Huawei Mate X was considered by many to be the most promising design out of all the folding smartphone concepts to be released. Especially after the early failure of the Galaxy Fold and their indefinitely postponed release date. In a public statement released by Huawei, they declared that they would be pushing their release date back as well, in order to allow time for more testing to prevent releasing a product that would negatively impact their brand reputation. Originally, the Mate X was scheduled for a release date during the month of June. The new projection is leaning towards a September release date instead.
