Sprint 5G vs. Verizon 5G – Battling it Out in Chicago
As of late, Chicago is becoming a battleground in regards to 5G. With Verizon rolling out its 5G network recently, Sprint followed suit by launching its own. Sprint’s network is using the 2.4 GHZ frequency band, while Verizon is using the 5G band. The millimeter waves on Verizon’s network are extremely fast, boasting speeds of 1.5 Gbps. However, Sprint’s network is covering a larger range of customers, and has a signal that offers way more stability than Verizon’s network. Although it only has been able to reach speeds of 216 Mbps (which is still fast) it makes up for it in range and signal transmission. So far, the only smartphones that are able to access Sprint’s 5G network are the LG V50 ThinQ and the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G.
